This film features Electric Adam, a latex designer and performer from London who creates outfits and installations and is then sealed inside them within an airtight vacuum, able to breath only through a tube. For this film I wanted to tell a story of how extreme struggle can eventually give way to a sense of complete euphoria and calm, which is an element that runs through many of Adam's performances. We used four of his creations to tell this story, whilst also capturing the beauty of his work as it changes during the vacuum process, eventually leaving Adam tightly trapped in the latex and barely able to move. As Adam mostly works alone, and he had no team, this was a very intense shoot and it was incredible to see an artist give so much to their performance.
