Roland Lane is a British Photographer and Director. He began shooting in his childhood, before assisting in a studio after college and then going on to study for a BA (Hons) in photography, graduating in 2005. Since then he has shot a variety of editorial and advertising work for numerous clients, consistently building up a distinctive style whether working with either still or moving imagery.
Always exploring new ways of using the latest technology to create innovative content, his first Virtual Reality film, 'Spatium', premiered at the 2017 South by Southwest Film Festival in Austin, Texas. The work received notable press coverage, including features by USA Today and Vanity Fair, amongst many others.
2019 saw the release of a groundbreaking music video - one of the first ever filmed entirely with 3D Volumetric Capture - featuring rapper Tino Kamal. The video was created using Microsoft’s Mixed Reality Capture technology, with Microsoft themselves commenting on the final work, stating it contained “stunning visuals we’ve never seen before” and describing it as an “inspiring piece”.
He is currently based in London.
